Brooke Leland, Mount Mary Graduate Art Therapy Student
"I think that every person is an artist in one way or another, as each of us cannot be in the world and not create, whether it be physical, visual, auditory, literary, or in the realm of abstractions or ideas."
As an experienced fine artist, Brooke believes in the power of the creative process to explore complex thoughts and feelings, shaping them into meaningful works of art. Her personal journey with artmaking has fostered greater healing and growth, inspiring her to help others discover the therapeutic potential of art through the practice of art therapy. She is passionate about the way creation acts as a tool to access the subconscious, leading to personal discoveries and intimate self-reflection.
Brooke has a BFA from the University of Wisconsin Madison and is currently in her second year in the Masters of Art Therapy program at Mount Mary University. She is most interested in Existential and Coherence therapies and is excited to gain clinical practice experience during her practicum at Clara.
