Brittany Runaas is a Board-Certified Art Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor with over 10 years of experience. She specializes in an integrated approach to therapy from a creative, relational, and lens. With a Master of Science in Art Therapy with a Concentration in Counseling from Mount Mary University, Brittany uses the creative process and therapeutic interventions to foster meaningful relationships with her clients that promote change, personal growth, and healing.
Brittany is passionate about holistic treatment and believes in the transformative power of art as a tool for self-expression. She works with individuals who are new to therapy, young adult women exploring their sense of identity, and adult women navigating major life changes and transitions. Her approach is centered around helping clients connect with themselves through creativity while embracing their personal journey toward healing and growth.
In addition to her work with CLARA, Brittany is an adjunct faculty member in the Art Therapy Graduate Program at Mount Mary University. She has taught supervision for students in their practicum and internship placements and has also provided clinical supervision for both in-training art therapists and licensed professional counselors. Her supervisory work is grounded in a developmental and relational model, fostering the growth of emerging professionals in the field.
Outside of her professional work, Brittany has a deep love for nature, which she often incorporates into her therapy practice. Her passion for gardening, plants, and flowers enriches her work and serves as another way she connects with clients on their healing journeys.
